Can I use this 90W charger if my original Dell charger was only 65W?
Yes. Your laptop only draws the current it needs, so a 90W adapter is 100% safe on 65W and 45W Dell laptops at the same 19.5V. It often runs cooler and charges more efficiently because it isn't working at its limit.
How do I know if my laptop has the 7.4mm large tip or the 4.5mm small tip?
Look at your charging port or old charger plug. The 7.4mm tip is a thicker, standard barrel with a visible centre pin inside. The 4.5mm tip is noticeably slimmer and often has a blue ring on the plug. This charger fits the 7.4mm large tip only.
Does this charger meet New Zealand electrical safety standards?
