Performance
The main advantage of the i9 model is the increase from 6 cores to 8 cores.
Multi-Core Performance: The i9 provides a noticeable boost (typically 15% to 25% faster) in tasks that can fully utilize all cores, such as video rendering (Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro), 3D modeling, compiling large codebases, and heavy virtual machine usage.
Single-Core Performance: The difference is minimal in day-to-day use (web browsing, email, light photo editing). Both processors have strong single-core performance due to their high Turbo Boost frequencies
The MacBook Pro "Core i9" 2.3 16-Inch (2019, Scissor Keyboard) is powered by a 14 nm, 9th Generation "Coffee Lake" 2.3 GHz Intel "Core i9" processor (I9-9880H), with eight independent processor "cores" on a single silicon chip, a 16 MB shared level 3 cache, 16 GB of onboard 2666 MHz DDR4 SDRAM and 1 TB of onboard flash storage as well as dual graphics processors -- an AMD Radeon Pro 5500M with 4 GB of dedicated GDDR6 memory and an Intel UHD Graphics 630 graphics processor that shares memory with the system.
Externally, this notebook has an integrated 720p FaceTime HD webcam, a "new Magic Keyboard" with a "redesigned scissor mechanism... including 4 arrow keys in an inverted-T arrangement" as well as a customized "Touch Bar" with a separate esc key and a separate "Touch ID" sensor, and a gigantic "Force Touch" trackpad.
Additionally, it has a high-resolution LED-backlit 16.0" widescreen 3072x1920 (226 ppi, 500 nits) "Retina" display with True Tone technology and the option of setting the refresh rate, and a integrated battery that provides an Apple estimated 11 hours of runtime.
