The DC18RD talks directly to the chip inside each Makita LXT battery, adjusting current, voltage and temperature as it charges. You get the fastest safe charge, and your packs last longer.
Two bays charge at the same time, so both batteries for your 36V (2x18V) mitre saw, rotary hammer or lawn mower are ready together, with no waiting on the second pack. Built-in fan cooling blows air through the battery vents, a USB port charges your phone on site, and a chime tells you when you're good to go.
